Italian appliance brand ILVE has parted Company with their Australian distributor Eurolinx who last month alone witnessed 60% growth with questions now being raised as to what’s next for the Italian brand.

ChannelNews understands that Eurolinx has picked up a brand new premium European appliance brand to replace ILVE however retailers were already questioning the value of ranging the ILVE product claiming the business “Lacks direction” and appears to not have a plan going forward.”

Eurolinx who appointed former Electrolux General Manager Michael Doyle to run the business last year has witnessed record growth during the past 12 months despite a downturn in the market as premium consumers continue to invest in top end appliances.

In a letter sent to retailers Eurolinx management claimed “After 35 years of a strong and productive collaboration, Eurolinx will no longer be the Australian and New Zealand distributor for ILVE products effective 1st January 2024.

“When we consider the journey, we’ve had with ILVE, it’s impossible not to reflect on the significant milestones. It was our dad, Damien Colbert who, 35 years ago, initiated our partnership with ILVE, successfully establishing it as one of the most premium and revered brands in Australia.

Analysts are telling ChannelNews that the market for premium appliances is continuing to grow with brands such as Miele, Bosh and several other European brands seen as now sitting in the affordable premium market when it comes to specs Vs the premium market where brands such as Sub Zero, Wolf and Gaggenau are gaining share in Australia.

The CEO of a major retailer recently told ChannelNews “Miele is not premium, Sub Zero is premium and when people are paying $28,000 for a fridge or $40,000 for an oven that’s premium”.

ChannelNews understands that Eurolinx have discussed their new brand with retailers but due to NDA commitments are not allowed to announce the brand to the market.
