EXCLUSIVE:Cygnett To Launch Major DIY & Custom Install SmartHouse Range
Leading accessories Company Cygnet who recently launched an electric bike at JB Hi Fi is moving into the Smart House and Connected Home market with a range of products for the DIY enthusiasts and next year the custom install market.
The move comes as several distributors including Laser Corporation and Tempo get set to launch an expanded range of products for retailers looking for category extension spanning multiple connected home products.
Among the Cygnett offering are connected bulbs, doorbells with security cameras, electronic and manual locks that can be powered from a portable power bank, RF smart controllers, door sensors as well as light switches to control 8 zones as well as tap touch pads.
At this stage both Harvey Norman Big W and The Good Guys will range the Cygnett offering that will start appearing in retail stores in the last quarter of 2019.
According to Cygnett marketing manager Michael Broadhurst the new range will include a “starter kit” with all of the range Apple Home Kit, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa enabled.
The range will also be IFTTT certified.
According to Broadhurst the range will appear in two stages with the initial Cygnett offering consisting of a starter kit that allows users to “get use to the technology and the capabilities that the connected home technology delivers” said Broadhurst.
Users will be able to create schedules and set notifications from multiple sensors.
A known brand who already have extensive floor space for their accessories in retail stores Cygnett will compete head on with known brands such as Arlo and unknown brands such as Sengled who while having floor space at retailers such as Bunnings have little if any brand clout with consumers in Australia claim observers.
ChannelNews has been told that Cygnett is currently in discussions with Apple to be a major global supplier of products to the US Company who is looking to expand their accessories and HomeKit products capability.
