Ex-Nonda & Sonos Senior Manager Moves To Crestron Home Automation

Former Sonos and ‘nonda’ Senior Manager and veteran of the audio industry, Trevor Rooney, has joined home automation company, Crestron, as its National Sales Manager for Residential.

In his new appointment, Mr Rooney will oversee the company’s residential market program across both Australia and New Zealand.

Mr Rooney states of the transition from Sonos to his new appointment:

“Crestron is a leader in home automation and control globally, and I’m thrilled to be joining the team. It’s an exciting time for Crestron, as it continues to ramp up its residential technology investment”

“I’m extremely proud of my work at Sonos, and look forward to bringing my knowledge to the Crestron team and expanding the company’s presence within the residential space”.

Mr Rooney is well known for his tenure at Len Wallis Audio and then at Sonos, where he remained for five years as National Sales Manager (ANZ).

After his time at Sonos, Mr Rooney was involved with ‘nonda’, which specialised in smart car accessories.

Mr Rooney has informed ChannelNews he is “really excited about this new challenge now that [he] has let nonda out into the market as such”.

Rooney will commence his position from October 2017.

Chief Executive Officer, of Crestron Asia Pacific, Stuart Craig, states of Mr Rooney’s appointment and the future of the company:

“The time is right for us to further our investment here in residential markets in ANZ, with the launch of our shading range, new lighting solutions, new and simpler programming methodologies, and so much interest around the residential automation space as Amazon Alexa and other AI technologies open people’s minds to what is possible”.

“Crestron is at the forefront of integrating these technologies for a seamless customer solution”.
