Epson has launched its new LifeStudio range of smart mini projectors in Australia, offering portable 4K entertainment with Google TV, Bose audio and images measuring up to 150 inches.

The Australian range initially includes the compact LifeStudio Pop EF-62B, priced at $1,499, and the flagship LifeStudio Flex EF-73 at $2,199.

Both models use Epson’s 3LCD projection technology and 4K PRO-UHD enhancement, alongside HDR support and automated image adjustment.

Automatic focus, keystone correction, screen fitting, obstacle avoidance and wall-colour adjustment are designed to simplify installation when moving the projectors between rooms.

Built-in Google TV provides access to streaming services without requiring a separate media player, while integrated Sound by Bose audio removes the immediate need for external speakers.

The portable LifeStudio Pop produces 700 lumens of white and colour brightness using Epson’s new Triple Core Engine.

Epson claims its 3LCD design delivers equally high white and colour brightness while avoiding the rainbow effect that can appear on some single-chip DLP projectors.

The LifeStudio Flex increases brightness to 1,000 lumens and adds a built-in gimbal, allowing users to adjust the projection angle for walls and ceilings.

It also includes ambient lighting, a premium finish and an integrated wireless charging pad, positioning the EF-73 as an entertainment device designed to remain on display when it is not projecting content.

The projectors are intended for streaming television, films, sport and gaming across living rooms, bedrooms and outdoor entertaining areas.

Their maximum 150-inch picture provides a significantly larger viewing area than most televisions without requiring a permanently installed home theatre setup.

The launch reflects a broader push by projector manufacturers to make big-screen projection more accessible to mainstream households through automatic setup, integrated streaming and more compact designs.

Epson has also placed greater emphasis on styling, aiming to make the LifeStudio models fit more naturally into contemporary Australian homes than conventional home cinema projectors.

The Epson LifeStudio Pop EF-62B and LifeStudio Flex EF-73 will be available through authorised Epson retailers across Australia during September.

Australian pricing has not yet been announced.
