Reports out of Korean publication The Bell have revealed that Samsung is planning to feature bezel-less edge-to-edge displays in next year’s flagship handset: the Galaxy S8.
Edge displays curve the sides of the screen, seamlessly blending them with the frame of the device.
The report also revealed the sizing variants available: 5.7-inches and 6.2-inches, which will presumably branded as the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus
It’s been suggested that a by-product of this new design will be the loss of physical navigation buttons in favor on-screen ones.
The move – if true – would put Samsung in-line with chief competitor Apple, who are also said to be working on an edge-to-edge display for the next iteration of their flagship product.
Samsung is expected to formally introduce the new handsets at the 2017 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
