Dell Unveil New XPS 4K OLED Laptop

Dell has launched its new XPS 15 laptop, boasting higher-performance hardware and a 4K OLED display screen – available to purchase overseas with Australian pricing and availability yet to be confirmed.

Dell’s latest release follows on recent trends of laptops sporting new 4K OLED display capabilities.

The new XPS 15 includes Intel’s ninth-generation CPUs (up to a Core i9-9980HK) and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650.

The latest model also comes with a notable change in terms of the placement of the webcam, shifting it above the screen instead of near the hinge where it originally was.

Though bigger and more powerful than previous models, the new XPS 15 remains quite compact for a large-screen laptop, measuring about 0.67 inches thick and having a starting weight of just 1.8kg.

Other features include stereo speakers (2W each), an aluminium and carbon fibre frame, Killer AX1650 Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, Thunderbolt 3, USB 3.1, HDMI, headphone jacks, SD card reader, and support for 56Wh or 97Wh battery options.

The most affordable version of the Dell XPS 15 starts at US$1,099.99 and comes with a 9th generation Intel Core i9 processor and 8GB of DDR4 memory.

The lowest configuration comes with Intel UHD Graphics 630 rather than the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650, which is available on the higher models.

The higher end models range from US$2,099 to US$3,099, depending on SSD size and display model selected.
