Death Stranding Packs Half-Life Bonus Content For PC Launch

Publisher 505 Games has announced the PC version of Death Stranding will release on June 2 on Steam and the Epic Game Store.

The PC version will let players outfit protagonist Sam Bridges in a headcrab helmet as part of a crossover promotion with Half-Life. Sam, who is played by Walking Dead star Norman Reedus, also has a red steam valve on his head in the announcement video, an obvious reference to the company logo of Half-Life developer and Steam owner Valve Software.

Death Stranding was first released on PlayStation 4 last November and to date has won at least 80 game of the year awards, according to the GOTYPicks blog. It was directed by Hideo Kojima, the creative force behind the Metal Gear series, and was co-developed by Guerrilla Games, best known for Horizon: Zero Dawn and the Killzone series.

The next game in the Half-Life series releases on March 23. Playable only in VR, Half-Life: Alyx is the first new Half-Life game since 2007.
