COMPUTEX: HP Adds Wooden Envy Series
Following its leather-clad Spectre Folio, HP has announced the Envy Wood Series, its first convertible PCs in the Envy range with authentic wooden panelling.
HP is decking out the Envy 13, Envy 17, Envy x360 13, and Envy x360 15 with a natural wood inlay that covers the laptops’ fingerprint readers and Microsoft Precision touchpads.
Besides their new natural element, they appear very similar to their metal counterparts.
However, they will apparently come with options of unspecified next-gen Intel Core processors or 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors with Radeon Vega Graphics chips.
The Envy Wood Series includes Amazon Alexa Service, Modern Standby, “Wake on Voice”, “Wake on Fingerprint” reader, HP SureView, and HP Webcam Kill Switch solution.
The three wooden options include “Nightfall Black with Natural Walnut,” “Ceramic White with White Birch,” and “Natural Silver with Pale Birch.”
As the material is “authentic” wood, the grain patterns will vary between individual laptops.
The Envy Wood series is tipped for a US release later this year, (Australian springtime) with pricing to come soon. Local availability yet to be confirmed.
UPDATE: The HP Wood series is expected to be available locally in August 2019. Pricing to be confirmed closer to availability.
