Billionaire businessman Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party has topped the digital ad spend list for January, shelling out a tidy $5,045,700, according to analysis by marketing intelligence platform Pathmatics.
An ad for the party criticises the Federal Government’s response to the COVID pandemic, encouraging Australians to fight for what they say is our freedom by voting for them.
Other big spends this month in the wake of the pandemic came from Foxtel, MenuLog, Shopify and Uber, as well as Peloton at $2,201,600.
The NSW government also put out $2,532,000 on digital ads for its ongoing COVID campaign. A Pathmatics spokesperson points out that it will be “interesting” to see how other parties’ digital ad spend compare as we draw closer to a Federal election.
