LG Exec Gets Top Job At Breville

LG Exec Gets Top Job At BrevilleThe appointment follows an international search carried out following last year’s resignation of previous chief executive officer Jack Lord, with Breville chief financial officer Mervyn Cohen having taken on the position of interim chief executive officer.

Clayton previously held a number of senior roles at LG Electronics, with his last role from 2013, prior to joining Breville, executive vice president, New Business Division, in the Home Entertainment Company, responsible for executing business opportunities in new growth markets around the world.

Clayton has also previously held roles with Symphony Technology Group, working across a private equity portfolio of investments in enterprise software technology service companies, and McKinsey & Co, advising Fortune 500 companies in the US, Germany and Singapore.

Breville chairman Steven Fisher stated Clayton brings “a track record of success in international markets that are key to Breville’s growth”.

“Breville’s Food Thinking strategy is to make the home cooking experience a premium experience through a combination of innovation and superior quality products,” Fisher stated.

“Jim’s mandate will be to build on this strategy by expanding both our culinary touch-points with the consumer and our global presence.”

Clayton stated he is “excited by the opportunity to lead Breville”.

“The Breville team has impressed me with their energy, capability and level of commitment for delivering market-leading products and service to their customers,” Clayton commented.

Cohen will continue as interim chief executive officer until July 1, at which time he will return to the chief financial officer role.
