ChatGPT Wobbles, New Features Coming
New ChatGPT multimodal capabilities have been launched, allowing users to participate in voice conversations and share images with AI.
This week, the platform had a case of the wobbles, with users having problems opening the desktop website.
Twitter was full of exasperated comments from users, with one writing, “ChatGPT is down, I am finished.”
This disruption hints at prevalent issues that many ChatGPT users have confronted already and may continue to have to deal with, according to Downdetector.
As recorded by the OpenAI Status Report, there has been a recent flurry of consistent outages, including one session that lasted almost an hour on September 13.
Some are now calling into question the dependability of the tool if these disruptions persist.
When ChatGPT is functioning, however, users can soon use the new features, such as voice input, like a Siri, to help facilitate things like work tasks and leisure activities like cooking and bike repairs. Available on both iOS and Android, this could be an excellent workflow addition to users.
Not unlike the voice feature, the image input allows users to give commands using images, which uses tech comparable to Google Lens.
After the prompts are made, ChatGPT assesses the images and responds. With drawing tools, users can highlight an aspect of an image or refine questions through text or voice.
With the introduction of the new tools, OpenAI is trying to expand the potential of creative exercises that users can do with ChatGPT, but misusing this tool is something the company will have to address.
To try out the new tools yourself once they are live, GizmoChina said to go to ChatGPT in the Settings in the mobile app, then access New Features, “opt into voice conversations, tap the headphone icon on the home screen’s top-right corner, and select your preferred voice from five options.”
Plus, and Enterprise subscribers are expected to have the ability to try the tools first, followed by free users.
