CES 2018: B&O Unveils Flagship Headphones And Expands E8 Portfolio
Bang & Olufsen have released two flagship headphones during CES for its B&O Play range, the Beoplahy H9i and H8i, which the company says bring forward a thoughtful infusion of new features, streamlined aesthetics and its signature sound.
The Beoplay H9i is an over-ear headphone made from a lightweight aluminium frame covered with stitched cowhide leather, anodised aluminium ear cups and adaptive memory foam. The active noise cancellation (ANC) has been upgraded to perform between 300-800Hz.
There is a new bass port for more powerful bass than in previous models. It also has a transparency mode where users can turn off the music and ANC at the same time to listen to surroundings. It also has a proximity sensor where it pauses audio when users remove the headphones and when they are put on, the audio resumes. Users are able to connect the headphones to two devices at the same time. The headphones have an 18 hour battery life and an extra microphone to improve voice quality.
They will be available next month retailed at US$499.
B&O has expanded its Beoplay E8 portfolio with a special edition Beoplay E8 all white and all black collection. B&O says it was inspired by the monochromatic aesthetics of an all-white and all-black design.
The Beoplay E8 is both water and dust resistant featuring transparency mode, users are able to control the earphones through the touch interface on the device. It delivers four hours of playback on one charge and two additional chargers from the leather charging case.
It will be available from the end of February at $449.
