CES 2017: Sony Debut Chromecast-Ready Soundbar + Subwoofer Combo
Another thing to come out of Sony’s press conference at CES in Las Vegas today was the company’s latest offerings when it comes to home audio.
Chief among them is the HT-MT500. A compact soundbar that comes pre-configured for easy use with Google Cast and bundled in with a wireless subwoofer.
There will also be a variation of the soundbar, called the HT-MT300, that comes without the ChromeCast compatibility but can still recieve audio streamed over Bluetooth and NFC.
Sony also announced a separate wireless subwoofer called the HT-CT290. Boasting a slim, mountable design and wireless Bluetooth connectivity, it’ll offer simulated surround sound ideal a home theatre environment.
It comes accompanied by the more-premium HT-CT800, which incorporates Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio tech to great effect.
The final piece of Sony’s home audio experience is the high-end HT-ST5000. Packing support for Dolby Atmos and high-resolution audio, it’s envisioned as the beating heart of your next home theatre setup.
