British Brand Marshall Get Massive Plug At Super Bowl

British brand Marshall got a massive free plug today at one of the world;s biggest sporting events, The Super Bowl and we doubt they paid a cent for it.

Already psyched by the on-field action, the inhouse crowd were  loving the halftime entertainment from the minute it started at the massive NRL Super Bowl game – with the guitar lines in a medley of classic hip-hop hits powered by a Marshall amplifier.

Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg were first to hit the expansive set, filmed by 8K cameras, with a tight band totally on point as the ensemble crew ran through a range of fan favourites throughout the set, with the gritty guitar sound notably truly making its presence felt on the intro to Eminem’s Grammy-winning hit Lose Yourself.

Sure, the amp was only on screen for a few seconds, but with a global audience of more than 100 million viewers, it is invaluable promotion for the iconic British amplifier brand, normally more associated with classic or heavy rock than hip-hop.

It was a massive plug for what is already as close to a household name as an amplifier can be, but with the company now branching out to headphones and ear buds, it’s fitting. Especially as Dr Dre – who reportedly dropped $9.8 million of his own money on the show – is the name behind the hugely successful Beats line of personal sound products.

The product is distributed by Melbourne based Aqipa.
