BREAKING NEWS: Telstra 4G Voice Network Crashes Again, Tens Of Thousands Affected
Tens of thousands of people who tried to make telephone calls on the Telstra network over the busy lunch time period have been locked out of the network due to a major outage on the 4G and NBN networks.
In key areas like North Sydney and Melbourne CBD, Telstra customers using a mobile were flicked off the network. Tens of thousands have turned to social networks to complain about the network that Telstra claims is the “biggest and best in Australia”.
On Twitter, Telstra told customers it was “looking into an issue impacting some 4G and NBN voice calls”.
The telco said 3G calls were not impacted.
The problem appears to be have been isolated to the voice network. While I could not get a call in I was able to access the data network.
In the last hour, Aussie Outages has received nearly 4,000 complaints from Telstra customers locked out of their voice call service, and that number likely represents just a fraction of those affected.
Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, South Yarra, Kew, Merrylands, Parramatta, and Brunswick were the first areas to complain about a disruption in service.
At 3.35pm Tuesday we were still unable to make local mobile calls.
