Bowers & Wilkins Launches Px8 S2, Its Most Advanced Wireless Headphones Yet
British audio specialist Bowers & Wilkins has unveiled its new flagship wireless headphones, the Px8 S2, bringing upgraded sound, improved noise cancellation and premium design to the high-end ANC market.
Launching today (24 September), the Px8 S2 builds on the brand’s Px7 S3 and original Px8, both of which won praise for their sound and build quality.
With the Px8 S2, Bowers & Wilkins is promising its “best sound ever” due to custom 40mm Carbon Cone drivers and a dedicated 24-bit DSP, designed to deliver a more detailed, natural and engaging performance.
The new model supports Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless codecs over Bluetooth 5.3, enabling true 24-bit/96kHz wireless playback from services like TIDAL, Qobuz and Amazon Music. For those who prefer wired connections, both USB-C and 3.5mm cables are included in the box.

Noise cancellation has also been enhanced. With eight microphones working in tandem, the Px8 S2 blocks out external distractions while maintaining clarity and dynamics. The same mic array improves call quality, aided by B&W’s Pure Voice technology for clearer conversations.
Comfort and design remain a major focus. At 310 grams, the Px8 S2 is lighter than its predecessor, with slimmer proportions and a new carry case that’s easier to travel with.
Premium finishes in Onyx Black and Warm Stone, combined with aluminium arms and Nappa leather, aim to set it apart from rivals like the Focal Bathys MG and DALI IO-12.
Battery life sits at a strong 30 hours with ANC, with a quick 15-minute charge delivering an extra seven hours of playback.
Future-proofing is also on the cards, with Spatial Audio support confirmed for later in 2025, alongside Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast updates via firmware.
At an RRP of $1,299 in Australia, the Px8 S2 undercuts some premium competitors.
