Beko Finally Confirms What We Have Been Telling Readers For Months
Beko ANZ has finally confirmed what ChannelNews has been telling readers for two years would happen, with their takeover of Hitachi Australia’s operation.
The move which we also alluded to last month will see the Gold Coast based business take over the distribution and after-sales services of Hitachi branded home appliances within the Australian market, as of 29th of September 2023.
Hitachi that is based in NSW will cease distribution of Hitachi branded home appliances and transition the responsibilities over to Beko a subsidiary of Turkish appliance Company Arçelik who secured the rights to the Hitachi consumer business last year.
In a statement issued to ChannelNews Beko ANZ, claim that the new operation will directly liaise with Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances, a joint venture between Arçelik and Hitachi Global Life Solutions, a business that was established in 2021 after Arcelik AS signed a deal to buy 60% of Hitachi Global Life Solutions Inc.’s for US$300 million.
Arcelik and Hitachi GLS then formed a new company that Arcelik will control to run operations in the home appliances market, excluding Japan.
BEKO ANZ claims that the transition aims to ensure uninterrupted supply and enhanced services of Hitachi branded Home Appliances products for customers.
“We are excited to be chosen as the new distributor for Hitachi branded home appliances in Australia. Our team is committed to upholding the high standards set by the previous distributor and to further enhancing the availability and accessibility of products to customers.” said John Brown, Beko ANZ Country Director.
