Bang & Olufsen And Fragment Design Release Luxury Blackout Audio Collection
Bang & Olufsen has partnered with Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara on a limited-edition audio collection that reworks several of the Danish company’s best-known products using Fragment Design’s minimalist black aesthetic.
The collaboration spans four products including the Beosound A1 portable speaker, Beoplay H100 headphones, Beosound Shape speaker system and the high-end Beosystem 9000c.
Each device has been finished in a deep black coating created through hand-polishing and anodisation techniques. According to Bang & Olufsen, this marks the first time the company has used the process across its portable audio range, resulting in a glossy reflective finish that cannot be replicated through automated production.
Fragment Design branding appears subtly throughout the collection, including the studio’s signature double lightning bolt logo positioned differently on each product. On the headphones, the logo sits on the left ear cup, while the speaker systems feature engraved aluminium detailing and customised hardware components.

Fujiwara said the collaboration continues a long personal connection with Bang & Olufsen that dates back to the 1990s, when he first integrated the brand’s audio systems into his home.
The collection first launched through a temporary retail installation at Tokyo’s Isetan Department Store before expanding more broadly across Japan and later internationally.
Pricing places the products firmly within the luxury category with pricing and availability for the Australian market yet to be released.
The most expensive item in the lineup is the made-to-order Beosystem 9000c package, priced at about A$107,000 and currently exclusive to the Japanese market.
