ASUS Teases 8,000Hz ROG Controller With Built-In Display
Asus has begun teasing a new Republic of Gamers controller that could deliver a major upgrade for competitive PC gamers, with an apparent 8,000Hz polling rate and a built-in display.
The company shared a teaser through its ROG account on Weibo, showing only parts of the controller.
The clearest clue is a small onboard screen displaying the number ‘8000’, which strongly suggests Asus is preparing a controller with an 8,000Hz polling rate.

That would be a significant jump over the ROG Raikiri II (pictured below), which offers a 1,000Hz polling rate, and far higher than the original ROG Raikiri Pro’s 250Hz rate.
The display also points to Asus retaining one of the Raikiri Pro’s more distinctive features. On a premium gaming controller, the screen could be used for switching profiles, checking settings, or displaying system information without opening software on a PC.
The teaser also shows textured grips with a repeating ROG pattern, suggesting Asus has made design and ergonomic changes alongside the internal upgrades.

Asus has not confirmed the controller’s name, although it could be a successor to the Raikiri Pro, which launched in 2023. Xbox compatibility, trigger design, thumbsticks and rear buttons remain unconfirmed.
If the 8,000Hz figure is accurate, Asus will be taking on high-performance rivals including GameSir’s Tarantula 8K PC and G7 Pro 8K controllers.
Asus says the new ROG controller will be announced in the next couple of months.
