Asus Tease Gaming Phone Launch

Gaming hardware powerhouse Asus has tweeted out a teaser from Asus Indonesia’s account for the Zenfone Max Pro (M2), announcing the official launch date as 11 December 2018 and seemingly baiting other gaming phones with “Pro” in their title, touting themselves as the “Real Pro”.

The tweet roughly translates to “Many come with the “Pro” name label, but is it really Pro? How long does the battery last? Is the screen strong? Does the camera last the distance? And how does the processor perform? Wait for the coming, 11.12.2018″

Making it seem that ASUS is baiting other gaming smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro and Realme 2 Pro.

The Zenfone Max Pro (M2) is the follow-up to the Max Pro (M1) and has been completely leaked online. A tech review YouTube channel, GadgetsNow, uploaded a review which was taken down minutes after its initial upload.

GSM Arena has done a nice wrap up of the specifications that have been released including its 5,000mAh battery, a more powerful Snapdragon 660 chipset, and up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.

The phone retains the 6-inch screen but upgrades with a 19:9 aspect with a notch and the IPS LCD panel has 1080p+ resolution and Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The previous metal back is now glass as well.

It will reportedly come with a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. The front-facing camera offers 13-megapixel.

Specifically built as a gaming smartphone, the tweet even uses a #NextGenerationGaming hashtag.

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2) will be officially revealed on December 11. No pricing information has been released.
