Apple has confirmed that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference will return from 8 to 12 June, bringing together developers globally for a week centred on software updates, tools and emerging technologies.

As in recent years, the event will be primarily online and free to attend, with sessions streamed through the Apple Developer app, website and YouTube. A limited in-person gathering will also take place at Apple Park on the opening day, giving selected developers and students the chance to attend keynote sessions and meet Apple engineers directly.

The conference will begin with Apple’s keynote presentation on 8 June, followed by the Platforms State of the Union. Across the week, the company plans to host more than 100 sessions alongside virtual labs and one-to-one consultations designed to help developers understand new features and frameworks.

This year’s event is expected to focus heavily on the next generation of Apple’s operating systems, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27 and visionOS 27. While Apple has not confirmed specific features, early reports suggest updates may centre on artificial intelligence improvements, refinements to Apple Intelligence and long-awaited changes to Siri.

There are also indications that iOS could introduce enhancements such as improved multitasking, updates to the Health app and more advanced battery management tools, although expectations are being tempered by suggestions that the overall update cycle may be more incremental than in previous years.

Beyond software announcements, WWDC continues to play a key role in Apple’s broader developer strategy. The company is again highlighting its Swift Student Challenge, with winners to be announced ahead of the event and a select group invited to Cupertino for additional experiences.

Despite its global reach, WWDC remains closely tied to Apple’s ecosystem, offering developers early access to upcoming tools and insights into how the company is shaping its platforms for the year ahead.
