Apple’s next iPad Pro will arrive in a matter of days, with 11-inch and 12.9-inch versions that include the same M2 processor as the recent MacBook Air.

This marks the first update in 18 months, with Mark Gurman tipping a 20 per cent speed boost from last year’s M1-driven pad. Other than this, the design remains similar to the past few iPads.

iPadOS 16.1, which marks the first iPad version of iOS 16, is due around the week of October 24, according to Gurman, who notes that Apple traditionally launch new products ahead of their quarterly earnings – which will be announced October 27.

With iPadOS 16.1 also comes Stage Manager, Apple’s new multitasking system that adds overlapping, resizable windows to the iPad.

Apple is also planning the next versions of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro, which will get the first M2 Pro and M2 Max chips.

These are likely to come into the market in November, alongside an M2 version of the Mac mini, which will mark the first update in two years, and an Apple TV with an A14 chip, and 4Gb of memory.
