Chinese tech giant TCL Mobile, has mysteriously moved to launch a Kickstarter crowdfunding program for their next generation of the Nxtwear S smart glasses with the program already raising over $400K

The current model is being ranged exclusively at Harvey Norman for $899, now the Chinese Company is looking to bring in Kickstarter investors instead of funding the smart glasses themselves.

At IFA 2022 in Berlin ChannelNews was shown the new Nxtwear S glasses, there was no mention that the roll out was subject to a Kickstarter campaign which is normally conducted by small business struggling to raise funding from borrowing institutions.

The TCL Nxtwear S have a viewing experience similar to a 140-inch TV from a distance of about 400 centimeters.

The new models were a big improvement on the past model currently on sale at Harvey Norman.

The smart glasses also have the TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification and has a micro-OLED display that outputs 1080p FHD viewing.

The Nxtwear S also offers 2D content and is compatible with both Windows and Android OS.

The Nxtwear S can be used with select smartphones, tablets, PCs, and several gaming consoles.

Users can connect buds or headphones via Bluetooth through the smartphone to listen to the audio.

What users get is a private viewing experience and movie-quality audio clarity making them ideal for aircraft or busy environment viewing.

The pocket-sized frame is small enough to be carried in a bag for instant access to content.

The new pair of TCL smart glasses also work with iOS when used with an adapter pair for devices that use a magnetic pogo pin connector.

Physical controls in the device include a dial that can be used to switch between viewing modes and a volume adjuster. The monitor has a DCI-P3 coverage above 90% and an overall rating of 47 pixels/ degree.

At this stage TCL are claiming that the Nxtwear S is only available via Kickstarter and the discounted price offers start from $329. The crowdfunding campaign will last till early November.
