Apple Cops More Dating-App Fines

Apple has copped another A$7.86 million fine from Dutch antitrust regulators over its refusal to open up app payments for third-party dating systems.

The Authority for Consumers & Markets said Apple’s new payment terms for dating apps are “unreasonable and create an additional barrier,” and the company “still does not meet the requirements” of the regulator.

This is the fourth fine Apple has copped over this issue, following an order in December to open the payments for app developers in the Netherlands. The running total sits at A$31.7 million.

Apple announced last month it will acquiesce and allow outside payments within App Store apps. It is yet to implement this.
