Apple Announces 2023 App Store Award Winners
Apple has revealed the App Store Award winners for 2023, with nine categories ranging from iPhone and iPad apps to games of the year. There are also winners for Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Arcade apps. Generative AI was also crowned the trend of the year.
CEO Tim Cook said, “It’s inspiring to see the ways developers continue to build incredible apps and games that are redefining the world around us. This year’s winners represent the limitless potential of developers to bring their visions to life, creating apps and games with remarkable ingenuity, exceptional quality, and purpose-driven missions.”
The iPhone App of the Year winner for 2023 is AllTrails, which brings trail guides and outdoor exploration with detailed reviews and tips from members of a community.
The iPad App of the Year was Prêt-à-Makeup, which provides a “true-to-life makeup sketchpad” for users.
SmartGym was named the Apple Watch App of the Year, providing users with a range of workout routines and fitness reporting, and Photomator is this year’s Mac App of the Year, which is a professional grade editing app, complete with machine learning tools.
MUBI is the Apple TV App of the Year, offering a one stop shop for indie films and international documentaries.
Lastly, Honkai: Star Rail is the iPhone Game of the Year, with Lost in Play taking home iPad Game of the Year honours and Lies of P gaining Mac Game of the Year.
Hello Kitty Island Adventure was crowned the Apple Arcade Game of the Year.
