A series of new FCC filings surfaced this week for the Eero 6 Plus and the Eero Pro 6E, two Amazon-owned trademarks that suggest that the company is working on routers that will support Wi-Fi 6E, using the nascent 6GHz spectrum for lightning-quick home internet connections.
At the moment, Wi-Fi 6E-capable mesh routers are still prohibitively pricey, which doesn’t mesh (geddit?) with the current pricing structure for the Eero, with the 6 Pro currently selling for around A$350. Maybe Amazon is waiting until more affordable routers can be produced before launching these new iterations.
The filings also include serial numbers: Eero 6 Plus has a model number of R010001, the Eero Pro 6E’s model number is S010001.
