Google’s parent company, Alphabet, has taken further steps to deliver items via drones, by partnering its ‘Project Wing’ division with Chemist Warehouse and Mexican fast-food chain Guzman y Gomez.
As part of a trial, beginning this week small drones will deliver purchased items directly to the backyards of rural Australian customers across NSW & ACT.

Tester’s orders will have derived from purchased items using the Project Wing app on their smartphones.

Rural Australians have informed Project Wing about the possibility of delivery drones transporting drinking water, food and medical supplies in emergency situations.
As part of its upcoming tests, Project Wing will assist the Australian Capital Territory Rural Fire Service to determine how its technology could help.
