All iPhones To Get OLED Screens Next Year

Apple is reportedly going to be fitting all its 2019 iPhone models with OLED screens, ditching LED.

According to Korean news outlet ET News this will add growth to the shrinking OLED component industry.

All models both entry level and premium will be getting OLED displays.

This means 2018 could be the last year Apple releases an iPhone device with an LED screen.

Apple insider and KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says there will be three new devices released this year, a 6.1 inch LCD device, a 5.8 inch OLED device and 6.5 inch OLED device.

The cheapest of the three will be the LCD device to be around US$700 with the 5.8 inch OLED (iPhone X) to be US$899 and the iPhone X Plus, 6.5 inch OLED model to be priced around US$999.

Japan Display, manufacturer of LCD displays saw its shares drop 10 per cent by the end of the day.
