Apple Sells 55 Million iPhones

It says the total it estimates for Apple is down from the 74.5 million sold over the Christmas period, but is a huge increase on the 43.7 million iPhones shifted in Q1 last year.

The sales figures show Apple captured 19.9 percent of the market during the first quarter. But Samsung managed to claim a 27.8 percent slice, despite sales of the latest Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones not being included in the figures.
