Swann Launches DIY Home Automation Kit
Called SwannOne the new system is a security-focused home-automation service controlled from apps, it will initially be available for the US market.Â
Â
The system uses wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Zigbee and Z-Wave to monitor and control home systems.Â
Â
The pricing of the products and optional service plans as set to be revealed at the CES show.
Â
The SwannOne system is built around a hub that connects wirelessly to multiple products, including the SoundView Camera with Wi-Fi. It features encrypted HD video streaming, motion detection, night vision, and optional cloud-storage service plans to store audio and video for the past seven or 30 days.Â
Â
With a service plan offering audio analytics, the camera’s built-in microphone detects and identifies sounds such as breaking glass, car alarms, a baby’s cry or gun shots, and also notifies users.
Â
Via the hub and their smartphone or tablet, users monitor and control the camera as well as Kwikset door locks, smart plugs to turn lights and appliances on and off, a smart climate control, and smoke, fire and carbon monoxide detectors. The system also features external and internal alarms.
Â
Plans are also available for professional security monitoring.
Â
The systems are said to appeal to households, renters, families, small businesses and owners of multiple properties.
