GoPro Revenue Jumps 72% In Q2
GoPro has also swung back from a loss in last year’s corresponding quarter, reporting net income for the quarter of US$35 million, compared with a loss of US$19.8 million year-on-year.
In this year’s first quarter, GoPro posted revenue of US$363 million and net income of US$16.8 million. Among GoPro’s new releases for the second quarter were its entry-level touchscreen Hero+ LCD and the Hero4 Session, its smallest and lightest camera yet. GoPro has advised that its products are now sold in more than 40,000 stores worldwide, with combined Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific revenue up 126 per cent year-on-year, and China now a top ten revenue-generating country. “I couldn’t be more proud of our aggressive pace of innovation,” GoPro founder and CEO Nicholas Woodman commented upon release of the results. “With the introduction of Hero4 Session and Hero+ LCD, we’ve launched five new cameras in the past 10 months, exciting both new and existing customers and contributing to strong second quarter results.” |
