The $279 NEO X8-H Plus device is powered by Amlogic’s latest 4K chipset, it is capable of delivering 4K and 2K playback. 

The device which we got a hands on with this week is extremely slim. Packed into the 22cm thick hub is a Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A9r4 processor which is fast and a big part of the smooth rendering of content found with this device. 

This simple media hub which is only 125cm X 125cm makes the Foxtel Media centre look like technology from a decade ago.

The device is one of the first 4K Media Hub for Android and is designed to be plugged in and left on in stand-by mode when not in use and because the device uses a Quad-Core ARM CPU a built-in thermal control management system protects against any heat issues.

The Octo-Core Mali-450 GPU delivers extremely good graphic performance, it can also handle all the latest Android game titles.

When it comes to connectivity the device is already 802.11ac dual band and Bluetooth enabled with 433mps throughput capability which is ideal for 4K downloads. 

The NEO X8-H Plus also comes fully equipped with Gigabit Ethernet providing the capability to stream any online content. 

The device utilizes eMMC “embedded Multi-Media Controller’ memory.

NEO X8-H Plus comes with AndroidT 4.4.2 KitKat OS which can be upgraded. 

Users have complete access to the Google Play Store, which offers more than 1.3 million apps.

JB Hi Fi has said that users can download from a choice of thousands of apps including Netflix, Spotify, Hulu Plus, Facebook and Twitter.
