Bug Delays Apple Watch Software Update
While Apple has confirmed the delay to the WSJ, there is as yet no revised time frame as to watchOS 2’s expected release, with an Apple spokeswoman stating it is expected “shortly”.
“We have discovered a bug in development of watchOS 2 that is taking a bit longer to fix than we expected,” the WSJ reported the spokeswoman as stating. “We will not release watchOS 2 today but will shortly.”
watchOS 2 had been slated to arrive on September 16, with Apple introducing a number of new features and apps, stating upon its announcement that the update “makes apps faster and more fluid by running natively on Apple Watch”.
Meanwhile, iOS 9 has arrived for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users, however users had been experiencing early issues updating to the new operating system, 9to5Mac has reported.
While some users had been experiencing issues, it is likely due to the initial rush looking to update flooding Apple’s servers, with users having since widely reported successful updates.
