Management at ChannelNews said” Key to our success is the unique stories we break. We don’t have to rely on a press release or a new product launch story to generate a story. We break exclusive stories, and we deliver insights into Companies that other competitors are not delivering”.

“We are also not frightening of going against the PR spin of PR Companies and big brands, as was the case in the exit of Murray Richardson from the top sales job at LG Electronics.

We reported that Richardson had had serious heart surgery and that this was his real reason for leaving despite fully recovering.

His PR Company and lawyers for LG and claimed that the story damaged his reputation and that of LG and that we should pull it down”.

We stood by the story, which is still up on ChannelNews.

Both LG, who like to threaten media who don’t toe the party line, and Murray Richardson, both failed to supply a statutory declaration as we had requested, that categorically denied that he had not had heart surgery prior to his decision to leave the Company where he has worked at for 20 years”.

“We indicated that we would pull the story down if this legal document was supplied” three weeks later we are still waiting.

“We also broke the story about the owner of Brisbane based distributor, The Crest Company who had been charged with 3 counts of rape of a 12 years old, paying $125,000 to a woman who took action in the Federal Court. Her statement of claim accused him of rape”.

“Press releases and woke spin are one thing, breaking exclusive stories takes skill, contacts and knowledge and that’s what ChannelNews delivers. Unfortunately we don’t have enough tech and tech industry journalists today who can deliver the stories that readers want to read”.

95.3% of the traffic at ChannelNews came via a mobile phone.
