WhatsApp Users Urged To Update
WhatsApp users are being urged to update their app, due to the possibility of a dangerous cyberattack. Cyber crooks have worked out a way to break into phones and steal files and messages just by sending victims a GIF (graphic interchange format).
Facebook, which owns WhatsApp, says it’s released a fix for a bug in the app’s software that allowed the hackers in.
Users will need the latest version of WhatsApp, which they can download via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
The vulnerability allows hackers to create a GIF loaded with malicious software that could be used to attack WhatsApp users.
