WD Launches World-First Wireless Charging Pad With Data Backup

Western Digital has unveiled a new wireless charging pad with built-in storage, allowing it to automatically back up files.

The SanDisk Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync delivers up to 10W power with fast charging while also backing up photos and videos when a phone is placed on its base, giving users the chance to free up space on their devices. Each pad supports up to three backup profiles through the Ixpand Wireless Charger app.

According to Sairam Challa, product marketing manager, SanDisk, Western Digital, the Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync makes the backup process easy.

“The SanDisk brand is known for offering trusted solutions, and we are thrilled to expand our portfolio to include the world’s first wireless charger with automatic local backup, making consumers’ lives more convenient and simple,” he said.

The SanDisk Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync is available now at retailers including Officeworks, for $169 for the 64GB model and $199 for 128GB.
