Warner Bros Discovery New Name In Streaming Wars
The next big player in the streaming wars now has been given a name by owner AT&T: Warner Bros. Discovery. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, who will lead the combined venture if cleared by regulators announced the name to WarnerMedia employees.
Zaslav said the company’s name represents the combination of Warner Bros. fabled hundred-year legacy of creative, authentic storytelling and the bold risks taken by Discovery to bring the most amazing stories to life.
The company’s tagline will be The Stuff That Dreams Are Made of, a nod to the 1941 Warner Bros. film The Maltese Falcon.
The new media company is the result of a $43 billion proposed merger between Discovery and WarnerMedia.
