Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella has described the forthcoming update to Windows as the “most significant” overhaul in a decade.
The latest version will arrive on June 24, and will be unveiled in an online event that promises “what’s next for Windows.”
At the Microsoft Build developer’s conference late last month, Nadella said: “Soon we will share one of the most significant updates of Windows of the past decade, to unlock greater economic opportunity for developers and creators.
“I’ve been self-hosting it over the past several months and I’m incredibly excited about the next generation of Windows.”
It is expected to have a graphic refresh, dubbed ‘Sun Valley’ which will include redesigned ‘Start’ menus, icons, and other cosmetic touches.
The operating system will be initially available in beta, with a wider release expected later in the year.
