WA Self-Charging Battery Being Built On Flexible Cloth

WA-based Strategic Elements says it is developing a self-charging battery technology that can be fabricated onto a flexible textile cloth.

Normal battery technologies like alkaline, lithium and coin are rigid or bulky, but Strategic Elements says its product will be able to be used for flexible electronics.

The battery, now under development, is said to have recently achieved its latest milestone, being mechanically bent over 2000 times.

It is being developed under a collaboration partially funded by a Federal Government grant with CSIRO and the University of New South Wales.
