Forget Tabs, Lenovo ‘Table PC’ @ CES 2013
Lenovo today announced the ‘IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC’ – a multi-user, multi-touch device for a “shared computing experience” – similar to a 40″ LCD Table device Samsung released last year for professionals.
Running Windows 8, the ‘Table PC’ also transforms into a 27″ desktop, and comes with Intel Core i7 processors inside. The Horizon Table PC will be debuted this week at CES 2013. The Lenovo PC designed for home use can be adjusted from lying flat to a straight-up, ‘wall-like mount’ at 90 degrees. The Horizon PC lies flat on any surface and is ideal for gaming, allowing several players take part in games like Draw Race 2 HD and Monopoly, and has customized games from Electronic Arts and Ubisoft. It is also kitted out with NVIDIA GeForce graphics, Dolby Home Theatre v4 audio, and 10 finger touch control. It comes with gaming accessories including e-dice, four joysticks and strikers . But it’s not just gamers that will fall for Horizon’s charms – the dynamic PC has 120 + streaming TV channels on FilmOn TV, runs and tablet apps and comes with educational apps pre-installed. Its simple User Interface lets families play, learn or enjoy entertainment together on one screen. “We’ve seen technology shifts across the four screens, from the desktop to the laptop, tablet and smartphone, and yet, while people have more computing power than ever before, there is still room for technologies like Horizon that bring people together. Horizon makes personal computing interpersonal computing with shared, collaborative experiences among several people,” said Peter Hortensius, president, Product Group, Lenovo. “Now many people can enjoy different photos, music and video on the same screen, and they can play games with our special accessories that blend physical and digital interaction. Horizon reflects our commitment to delivering the innovative products that define the PC Plus era.” |
