“Revenue and profit for the first half of 2014 are in line with our expectations” said Cathy Meng, Huawei’s Chief Financial Officer.
Huawei says it has further solidified its leadership position in mobile broadband with increased investments in LTE 4G networks and rapid growth in software and services in the carrier network business.
The Chinese brand achieved “sustainable growth” in its consumer business, thanks to increased smartphone demand and brand awareness.
The flagship Ascend P7 smartphone is sold in more than 70 countries and Huawei is among the top 5 vendors globally.
Huawei also enjoyed accelerated growth in enterprise during H1 and its recent drive into the market is paying off – this month it held an ICT event in Sydney.
“We are confident that in 2014 we will achieve sustainable growth, robust operations, and healthy financials”, said Meng.
