Vivo Confirms 5G Phone After Landing JB Hi-Fi Deal
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo has confirmed its NEX 3 5G will unveil in September, days after the brand was discovered to be ranged in JB Hi-Fi Australia.
The brand confirmed the NEX 3 5G’s launch via an official Weibo post, as the market for 5G devices continues to heat up in the country.
As previously reported, a JB Hi-Fi catalogue posted online revealed stock of Chinese Vivo and Xiaomi smartphones, to the shock of many market watchers.
It comes as fellow Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei, continues to battle privacy concerns and stringent US trade tariffs.
The NEX 3 5G is Vivo’s second 5G smartphone, following the recent release of the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G.
It is highly expected to come with Snapdragon 855 or the newer 855+ and will implement the Snapdragon X50 modem for 5G speeds.
Some leaked sketches of the phone reveal a circular setup for the 64MP triple camera hardware in the back.
It also showed the front of the device having one of the highest screen-to-body ratio to date, at 99.6%, as well as showed a glimpse of the ‘Waterfall Screen’ design teased by Vivo.
As for the display, it looks to be quite large (early estimates being at over 6.5-inches) and will either be a fullHD+ or a QHD+ panel.
Vivo has also confirmed the addition of a 3.5mm headphone jack and plenty of RAM, though exact figures have been given.
Further, the smartphone is also expected to come with 44W fast-charging support.
