Panasonic Reshuffle CE, Appoints “Natural Choice” As Director

Panasonic Australia has appointed its GM, Marketing for Consumer Electronics, Richard Tassone as Director, of CE group and a group restructure, to “deliver greater efficiencies.”

The reshuffle comes as Steve Rust announced his retirement as Managing Director of Pana OZ last Friday, after seven years in the job, to be replaced by Paul Reid.

A company veteran, Tassone has worked for 13 years at the electronics giant in both sales and marketing roles.

As Director, he will provide overall leadership and be responsible for driving the sales and marketing strategy across the group. He has been in the role since late last year.

Rust said Tassone is “the natural choice for this role. He brings to the table a proven talent in understanding our business needs, building lasting relationships and inspiring his team to deliver exceptional results.”
Under Panasonic’s CE group (CEG) restructure, there will be two Group Managers: one for Home Appliance and Air Conditioning, which is to be headed up by Sophie Barton, Group Marketing Manager for Home Appliances, and Home Entertainment and Imaging.

Pana say they are still recruiting for the latter role and will make an announcement in the coming weeks.

Tassone said he was “delighted to take on the new role and continuing to build the growth of the CEG portfolio.

“It’s going to be an exciting year and I’m looking forward to leading the team through the next era of growth and innovation.

“This transformation allows us to reposition resources and skills within the CEG division in the right place to drive greater responsiveness.”

Panasonic are also redeploying resources into new market analyst roles to increase strengths in analysing and planning, “giving us a deeper understanding of the changing needs of our customers,” the new CEG Director also revealed.
