Twitter Is Broken
Twitter was a minefield of broken links, error messages, and missing pictures this morning.
The problem has been linked to Twitter’s application programming interface — a software intermediary that allows two applications to talk to each other. Twitter is moving from an inhouse API to a third-party service, which has resulted in a sea of broken links, slow load times, and error message.
When using a link on Twitter or trying to use a third-party Twitter-linked platform such as Twitterific or TweetDeck, the following error message would appear:
“{“errors”:[{“message”:”Your current API plan does not include access to this endpoint, please see https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api for more information”,”code”:467}]}”
Clear as mud.
Twitter admitted “some parts of Twitter may not be working as expected due to an internal change that had some unintended consequences.”
The service seems to be working again, but load times remain slow.
