Twitter Asks Fired Workers To Come Back
It would seem that sacking half your entire workforce within a week of taking over the company could have some unforeseen circumstances.
That’s the situation Elon Musk has found himself in, after realising that a number of the employees unceremoniously sacked in Twitter’s mass layoffs this past weekend were vital to the company’s success.
Some were included in the 3,700-strong layoffs by mistake, according to sources, while others were fired before it was realised that they were necessary to Musk’s roadmap towards greater success.

“Regarding Twitter’s reduction in force, unfortunately there is no choice when the company is losing over $4M/day,” Musk tweeted after his cull unsurprisingly raised some ire.
“Everyone exited was offered 3 months of severance, which is 50% more than legally required.”
Given this generous severance, no doubt a lot of these spurned workers will tell Musk to shoot his offer into space.
Then again, with Meta planning a cull even bigger than Twitter’s this week, tech jobs are suddenly becoming rarer than EV batteries.
