Giraffic is a company that has developed Adaptive Video Accelerator (AVA) technology that “virtually eliminates re-buffering” in streaming video delivery.

The end result is smoother delivery of content to a TV or device when downloaded from a third party content provider.

The Giraffic software accelerates content that is streamed or downloaded to a device’s native video player Giraffic said.

The company said its AVA provides a better streaming experience by analyzing throughput and maximizing TCP bandwidth utilization, intelligently managing and monitoring downloads on the device from any standard HTTP-based content source and by monitoring and shaping playback.

Giraffic said device makers and OTT providers can use its AVA to boost the video streaming performance over any Internet connection.

It is supported on most popular operating systems and compatible with all HTTP-based streaming protocols including HLS, MPEG-DASH and Smooth Streaming.
