Sony Teams Up With Japanese Virtual Pop Star Hatsune Miku For LinkBuds Fit Limited Edition
Sony has launched a LinkBuds Fit Hatsune Miku Limited Edition bundle that blends its fitness-focused true wireless earbuds with one of Japan’s most famous virtual pop stars.
The collaboration, which first appeared in Japan last year, has now rolled out more broadly and includes Australia as part of Sony’s regional release plans.
It also lands just a day after we reported on Sony’s teaser for a “new form of listening” with the upcoming LinkBuds Clip.
The limited edition is based on the existing LinkBuds Fit – Sony’s lightweight, secure-fitting ANC earbuds aimed at workouts and all-day wear. The hardware and sound tuning is unchanged.
Instead, the appeal is in the bundle and the branding. Buyers get the green LinkBuds Fit, a limited-edition acrylic stand featuring new artwork by illustrator Ogipote, plus two exclusive Hatsune Miku HoloModels.

There’s also access to a special campaign track, ‘BELIEVE DAY’, complete with an animated performance viewable through Sony’s HoloModels mobile app, letting fans place the virtual idol into real-world scenes using AR.
For those unfamiliar, Hatsune Miku isn’t an AI in the generative sense. It’s a long-running Vocaloid character built from recorded human voice samples and used as a digital instrument by producers.
On the tech side, the LinkBuds Fit offer active noise cancelling, Ambient Sound mode, Sony’s Dynamic Driver X, IPX4 splash resistance, and up to 5.5 hours with ANC on (with another 15.5 hours from the case). They’re designed to stay put during runs and gym sessions rather than chase audiophile tuning.
Price-wise, you’re paying for the fandom factor. The limited edition carries a premium over the standard model, without any performance upgrades.
The timing is notable. With Sony teasing the open-ear LinkBuds Clip reveal this week, the Hatsune Miku edition feels like a reminder that Sony is happy to play in both experimental hardware and pop-culture collaboration.
