Skullcandy Brings Bose Technology To New Crusher Headphones
Skullcandy has launched its new Crusher 1080 ANC wireless headphones, combining the brandās bass-heavy sound with noise cancellation and spatial audio developed by Bose.
Priced at A$399.99, the headphones are coming soon to JB Hi-Fi in black, grey, pink and brown finishes.
Skullcandy said the collaboration was designed to combine its trademark bass experience with the audio processing and noise-cancelling technology usually associated with more expensive headphones.
The headphones uses Skullcandyās adjustable Crusher Bass system, which adds physical vibration through dedicated bass drivers so users can feel low-frequency effects in music, movies and games.
A control wheel on the earcup and the Skullcandy app allow listeners to adjust the intensity of the effect.
The headline addition is a suite of licensed āSound by Boseā technologies, including Bose QuietControl active noise cancellation, TrueSpatial audio with head tracking, WaveForm signal processing and SpeechClarity voice technology.

The adaptive noise cancellation system uses six microphones and includes Quiet, Aware and ANC Off modes, while Bose-tuned equaliser presets are available for music, movies and podcasts.
Battery life is rated at up to 60 hours with noise cancellation disabled or 50 hours with ANC switched on. A 10-minute rapid charge is claimed to provide another four hours of listening.
Other features include Bluetooth 5.3, LE Audio, Auracast audio sharing, multipoint connectivity, Google Fast Pair, wear detection, low-latency playback and a customisable five-band equaliser.
The headphones weigh 374 grams and include a 3.5mm audio cable, USB-C charging cable and travel bag.
Skullcandy has also unveiled the cheaper Crusher 720 (pictured below) overseas, which replaces Bose processing and active noise cancellation with THX Spatial Audio, Mimi hearing personalisation and up to 65 hours of battery life.
The new flagship arrives as Skullcandy pushes further into premium headphones, competing with models such as the Sony WH-1000XM6 and Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S3 while maintaining a substantially lower price.
