Marshall Launches First Artist Signature Amp In 14 Years With Billie Joe Armstrong
Marshall has launched its first artist signature amplifier in 14 years, partnering with Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong on a limited-edition model.
Inspired by the guitar sound behind the band’s breakthrough album Dooki, the 1959BJA Billie Joe Armstrong Artist Signature amplifier will be available from July 21, priced at A$7,999.
The 100W amplifier head is based on Marshall’s handwired 1959HW platform but introduces a custom ‘Dookie Mod’ developed with Armstrong.
Marshall says the modification delivers more gain, tighter low frequencies and a heavier, saturated crunch designed to recreate the sound Armstrong developed with producer Rob Cavallo during Green Day’s early breakthrough years.

The baby-blue amplifier was first spotted behind Armstrong during Green Day’s performance at the 2026 Super Bowl, prompting speculation that a signature model was on the way.
Its design takes inspiration from ‘Blue’, the Fernandes Stratocaster-style guitar Armstrong has played since his youth. The amplifier features a baby-blue finish, brass and silver control panels, custom branding and Armstrong’s signature on the front and rear.
The UK-made, single-channel amplifier uses three ECC83 preamp valves and four EL34 power valves. Controls include presence, gain, master volume and a three-band equaliser.

It also includes high and low inputs, along with two speaker outputs supporting selectable 16-ohm, 8-ohm and 4-ohm impedance.
The 20.1kg unit is sold as an amplifier head only, allowing buyers to connect their preferred speaker cabinet.
The launch expands Marshall’s relationship with Armstrong, who appeared in the company’s 2024 campaign promoting its Monitor III A.N.C. wireless headphones.
Marshall said an amount equal to 1% of purchases made by members of its Amplify loyalty program would be used to support independent music venues.
