Simify’s Unlimited Roaming Data Targeted At Travelling Sports Fans
Australian eSIM retailer Simify says its new unlimited international data eSIM plans are built for travellers who don’t want to miss the footy grand final or Boxing Day Test.
Simify, previously known as Sims Direct, was founded just seven years ago by two young Australian entrepreneurs. It now boasts over 300,000 customers and offers roaming coverage in over 150 nations.
“We hear it from Aussie travellers all the time,” co-founder Aidan Butler says. “They still want to watch their team play live, so they need a safe and reliable way to stay online.”
Backpackers staying in budget accommodation may find that an internet connection is unavailable or at least unreliable.
Hotel or public Wi-Fi can also be problematic.
Butler advises never relying on public Wi-Fi for streaming because “it’s slow, risky for cybersecurity and often blocks streaming services”.
Plus, even if the public Wi-Fi provider doesn’t block your team’s make-or-break semi-final, it is likely to be geo-blocked by the Australian streaming service broadcasting it. (You may need to get around that by using a VPN.)

Never miss the Big Game again, no matter where you are
Fortunately, missing crucial sporting events will no longer be a problem for anyone who invests in one of Simify’s eSIMs and ‘unlimited roaming’ international data plans.
After identifying a significant pain point for sports-mad Australians, Butler and his co-founder are now doing their best to address it.
“We designed our unlimited plans for exactly this,” Butler says. “
Whether you’re watching footy in a Paris café or catching the cricket on Kuta beach, you need a connection that won’t cut out in the middle of the game. With no data caps and no stress, [Simify] ensures you’ll never miss a moment of the action.”
